17 Weeks Pregnant

I am not as strict to my diet unlike my first pregnancy. Now I eat anything I want and husband would let me sip soda or coffee – these two were forbidden by husband on my first pregnancy! I eat fruits when husband and daughter are feasting on them, and try to eat vegetables too. I know the baby needs more of healthy food now so I try my best to give that to him. It’s sometimes hard to sit or stand quickly as I feel a pain right below my tummy. I guess the baby’s location is so low this time. I have to ask my OB about that on my next visit. It sometimes worries me.

I just cannot wait for my 20th week when we can finally have my ultrasound so as to know his gender.

Here’s the Baby @ 17 weeks:

Your baby is forming brown fat deposits under his or her skin, by the end of pregnancy this will account for 2-6% of their total body weight. This will help them maintain their body temperature when they are born. The baby weighs in at about 5 ounces (142 grams). This means that the baby now weighs more than the placenta. No new structures have formed.

Loud noises outside may actually cause the baby to startle.
